Fabtech is North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event. We returned from Atlanta convinced that buyer confidence still exists. Fabtech 2022 was perhaps the best traffic Automec has seen in Atlanta to date.

Customers are frustrated with long lead times with new machines. Therefore, there are a lot of people considering retrofits this year. Whether the customer is looking to retrofit their existing machine or purchase a used machine in which they retrofit an Automec backgauge system, this trend is growing in momentum. With the rising costs of new machines, supply chain issues, and some uncertainty about support with the new machines available, customers want to make the safe decision in choosing an American-made retrofit on a machine they already know and trust.

There was also a significant interest in small electric press brakes. Customers were very intrigued by this technology in the past, but now more and more want to try it for themselves.
