President and Owner, Jim Ofria has been with Automec, Inc. since the early years. Growing up in the Greater-Boston Area of Lexington, MA, Jim currently resides in Andover with his wife, Janis. Jim keeps a busy schedule with 3 children in LA, Chicago and Boston, and 5 grand kids while running Automec, Inc. As a graduate of University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a B.B.A. in Quantitative Methods and Marketing followed by an M.B.A. at Boston College, Jim joined Automec in 1983 where he directed Sales, Marketing and Application Engineering until becoming President in 1998. Previously employed at a competitor for 9 years as a Production Manager and then as a Sales/Marketing Manager. Prior to that, Jim worked in the Automotive aftermarket Industry and as a machinist in a family-owned contract machine shop. Jim’s passions outside of work are restoring classic cars, golf, and ice hockey. Jim quotes, “In Business since 1972, with approximately 15,000 systems worldwide, I enjoy reconnecting with existing customers and distributors in the field and at trade shows to remember and thank them, shake their hand and not have to hide”.
Linda Jones-CFO & Owner
Chief Financial Officer and Owner of Automec, Inc. in Waltham, MA. Linda has been with Automec since 1991. Linda attended college in Waterville, Maine at Colby College and earned a Bachelors Degree in Business/Mathematics, Linda has worked in Finance for most of her life. A Lexington, MA native who now resides in Concord, MA with her husband and two teenagers. She keeps busy outside of work raising her children and volunteering within the Concord community and school system . Linda wears many hats at Automec, Inc. handling CFO duties, Operations, and Human Resources. With a small team, around 20 employees, Linda adds, “Working for a small family business founded in 1969 by my father has been very rewarding. The challenges that come along with running a business in this economy, Automec has overcome these challenges and has always continued to thrive for 50 years” . The team at Automec continues to grow its client base, and steadily grow its internal team.
Doug Flynn-Customer Service Manager
Customer Service Manager, Doug Flynn has been with Automec since Aug. 2000. Prior to joining the Automec team Doug had his own business, F&F Electronics from 1987-2000. Doug enjoys golfing at his summer place at Point Sebago Resort on Sebago Lake in Maine. Doug is married with two adult kids, his son Chris Flynn worked as the Shipping Manager/Buyer at Automec up until the end of 2018. Doug is the first individual you will most likely speak to if you have a question on any of Automec’s gauging systems, handling customer needs and inquiries from technical support to repairs and upgrades. “It’s a pleasure being able to solve customer problems over the phone.”
Bill Helinski-Sales & Marketing Manager
Sales and Marketing Manager, Bill Helinski, has been with Automec, Inc. since 2013. A graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology with a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Bill has pursued his career in Sales with Automec ever since graduating college. Bill resides in Everett, MA, outside of Boston. He takes care of the customer throughout the entire sales cycle from start to finish, and beyond. Bill works closely with the President, CFO & Customer Service Manager of Automec . Bill states, “After earning my college Degree, I started the interview process at Automec. Right away, I knew that I wanted to be part of this close-knit manufacturing business. The employees treat each other like family and represent everything I imagined of a true American manufacturing business. The product line is legitimate and it’s something I feel excited about sharing with potential customers.” When he’s not closing deals, you will find Bill on the hockey rink, riding motorcycles, ATV’s and Snowmobiles.
